Good questions, straight answers.
A paddock shelter is designed as a more open structure, with a double reinforced steel frame on the left and right front verticals for additional support. From there, the dividing, end and rear panels can be configured with black ply, steel mesh, cattle rail panels, or a combination of these, depending on how open or enclosed you want the shelter to be. The stable system is typically configured as a more enclosed horse housing setup, while the paddock shelter gives you more flexibility around open sides, airflow and paddock access.
Yes. We can fabricate custom shelters, pens and enclosures for a range of animals, not just horses. Options can include full mesh panels, full height mesh gates, open front access, post and roof shelters, and other configurations to suit the animal and how the enclosure needs to work. We have also built aviaries for birds, dog pens and other custom animal enclosures.
Prefabricated panels have four insert sections, which can be configured with black ply, steel mesh, or a combination of both. The standard setup is black ply in the lower two sections with steel mesh above, but you can change the mix to suit the stable. Options range from full ply through to three ply sections with one mesh section, or other combinations as needed. Dual gate access panels can also be arranged.
Ground anchors are recommended when the stable is being installed on grass, gravel, crusher dust or another non concrete base. On grass sites, you can also secure the stable by digging holes at key fixing points and pouring concrete around the anchor locations. This gives the frame a more solid footing without requiring a full slab. They help secure the frame and reduce movement, particularly on exposed sites or where the ground can soften after heavy rain. If your stable is installed on a concrete slab, ground anchors are not required. The frame can usually be fixed directly to the slab using suitable concrete anchors such as Dynabolts. For shed conversions, the anchoring method depends on the layout. A complete four panel bay may only need fixing to the floor, while two or three panel configurations may also need additional fixing points to existing shed posts or walls.
The Guerilla Steel Install team usually completes most builds in a day or two. A single bay, or even a two bay setup, can usually be installed in a day by two people on a prepared site. Larger multi bay stable runs may take a weekend, depending on the layout, ground conditions and anchoring required. The panels arrive fully welded and ready to assemble, so there is no fabrication required on site. Installation mainly involves positioning, levelling, bolting the panels together and securely anchoring the finished stable.
