Double Inline Stable 2x 3-bay High Airflow Stable with extra wide recessed latch gates
Six Horse Stalls Without a Concrete Bill
The two rows sit on grass, held by anchor kits at four anchors per bay. Six bays, six kits, $660 all up. For a property running six big horses that’s the difference between a project you start this month and one you keep putting off until the ground dries out and the excavator’s free.
This type of build would be great for agistment properties, breeders, anyone running a team, and anyone whose block won’t take heavy machinery without leaving ruts through it. It also suits people who aren’t certain this is where the stables live forever. Anchored to grass isn’t permanent in the way a slab is, and that cuts both ways.
Grass means you’ll manage the ground and flooring yourself. With rubber, gravel infill or bedding depending on how hard the stalls get worked. A slab gives you a harder wearing surface and easier mucking out. If your horses are in twelve hours a day, price both pad options before you decide!
Two Inline High Airflow 3 Bay Standard kits
Two 3 Bay Standard kits with the high airflow upgrade, each 12m x 4m at 2400mm panel height, 48m² a piece. Ply and mesh panels throughout. Six gates, all extra wide, all with the recessed latch.
Ground anchor kits included four per bay and installed across all six bays. We always recommend them!
Two days on site for the pair.
Why a Recessed Latch Earns Its Place on a Six Gate Build
A protruding latch is a snag point. Rug straps catch on it, hips brush it, and the horse that finds it is usually the one going through in a hurry.
On a single stable you might get away with it. Across six gates in a double row, where you’re opening and closing twelve times a day minimum and horses are passing each other in both directions, the odds change. Recessing the latch into the frame takes the hardware out of the traffic line entirely. Nothing sticks out into the gap a horse is walking through.
Combined with the extra width, it means you can lead a rugged horse through without steering, and swing a barrow in without turning it sideways.
