2-Bay High Airflow Horse Stable – 4m x 8m Installed in One Day
Good timing mattered on this one. Ellyn needed a practical two-bay stable that would give her horses proper shelter without closing them into a stuffy box. We installed this 4m x 8m High Airflow Horse Stable on the property’s prepared gravel pad, with the full installation completed by the Guerilla Steel team in one day.
Each bay provides approximately 16m² of floor area. The 2.4m-high structure uses solid lower panels where the stable needs protection, with extensive mesh above to keep sightlines and airflow open around the horses. The roof also extends well beyond the stable frontage, adding useful cover from sun and weather.
This build also features our new wider 1500mm gates, which are now a standard inclusion. The extra opening makes getting a horse in and out less cramped, while the recessed latch keeps the hardware tucked away rather than projecting into the handling area. It’s a small design change that makes everyday use easier and safer.
And the timing couldn’t have been much better. Installation was finished the day before several days of rain arrived. As Ellyn put it afterwards: “happy dry horses!”
Two Generous 16m² Horse Bays
The 4m x 8m footprint is divided into two bays, giving approximately 16m² per horse. At 2.4m high, there’s useful internal volume above the occupied area as well as room for air to move through the structure.
High Airflow Where the Horses Actually Stand
Large galvanised mesh upper sections keep the stable substantially more open than a fully sheeted enclosure. Combined with the open fronts, they allow air and sightlines through the bays while the solid lower panels provide separation and protection closer to horse level.
New 1500mm Gates with Recessed Latches
The wider 1500mm gates are now a standard Guerilla Steel inclusion. They give horse and handler more room through the opening, while the recessed latch is easier to handle and keeps the hardware tucked away from the main movement area for a cleaner, safer entry.
One-Day Installation on Gravel
No concrete slab was required for this installation. The prepared gravel pad gave the team a workable base, and the complete two-bay stable was installed in a single day. And just before the wet weather arrived.
