Standard Horse Stable

  • 4m x 4m (16mยฒ)

Horse Stable Built to Handle Queensland Conditions

For this acreage owner, a single 4m ร— 4m stable provided a safe, low-maintenance home for a retired mare with room to expand later if needed. The site already had a level slab prepared, making installation straightforward. To suit the exposed location, the stable was anchored securely into the concrete for extra stability during strong winds.

Built from fully welded Australian steel with full ply kickboards, mesh upper panels and a 2.5m roof height, the finished stable delivers year-round weather protection without sacrificing airflow.

  • Fully welded 50 ร— 50mm RHS Australian steel frame for long-term strength.
  • Lockable sliding roller gate for smooth, secure access.
  • Full ply kickboards with mesh upper panels for weather protection and natural ventilation.
  • Corrugated steel roof with generous overhang to reduce rain splash and shade the entrance.
  • Anchor system fixed to the slab for added stability in exposed locations.

A Single Bay, Modular Design ready to expand

Starting with one stable often makes sense, especially for private owners with one or two smaller animals. The advantage of a modular system is that today’s investment doesn’t become tomorrow’s obstacle.

  • 4m ร— 4m footprint (16mยฒ).
  • 2.5m internal height for better airflow and easier handling.
  • Compatible with additional bays, shelters or tack rooms as the property grows.

  • Small acreage owners needing low-maintenance stable structures.
  • Windy or open paddock hobby farms with 1โ€“2 horses.
  • DIYers wanting quick-fit, budget-friendly options that can grow over time.
  • Existing sites with slabs already prepared.

Simple upgrade ideas to tailor this 4m x 4m single-bay stable for different properties, finishes, and long-term expansion plans.

Add a feed hatch or rear mesh panel.

Install a lockable feed access hatch for easier daily routines, or swap a rear panel to mesh to increase cross-ventilation, especially useful in humid SE Queensland climates.

Upgrade to a painted or powder-coated finish.

Apply a black or custom powder-coated finish over the galvanised frame, improves corrosion resistance in coastal zones and creates a premium visual match to existing sheds or fencing.

Install a full-height swing or sliding gate.

Replace the standard entry with a full-height secure gate option, improves containment for stronger horses and allows better control in high-wind or open paddock sites.

Add an additional storage or utility bay.

Bolt on a second 4m module configured as a feed room, hay store, or equipment bay, maintaining the same roofline and structural integrity while doubling functionality.

Every Guerrilla Steel project follows a simple principle: build once, build right. The process focuses on practical planning, precision manufacturing, and long-term durability so the stable becomes a lasting assetโ€”whether you plan to use it as a permanent structure or relocate and reconfigure the modular panels later.

  1. Design & Planning

The process begins with choosing the right configuration for your property, horses, and daily workflow. Stable size, layout, ventilation, and site access are considered so the structure works with your land and long-term plans.

  2. Precision Manufacturing

Each stable is fabricated in the Guerrilla Steel workshop using Australian RHS steel framing, welded panels, and durable roofing materials. Manufacturing in a controlled environment ensures consistency, strength, and long service life.

  3. Delivery & Installation

Modular panels are delivered ready for assembly. Many customers install the system themselves using the DIY friendly flat-pack design, while others choose professional installation. Either way, the modular system keeps the build straightforward and predictable.

  4. Ownership & Maintenance

Once installed, the stable becomes part of the propertyโ€™s working infrastructure. Routine checks, cleaning, and occasional maintenance keep the structure performing for decades while protecting the horses inside.
