A Premium Shed Conversion That Looks Purpose Built
What was once an open rural shed is now a fully enclosed four-bay stable designed for everyday horse ownership. The owners wanted more than just functional stables. They wanted a space that looked at home on the property, handled Queensland weather and made daily horse care easier.
Using our modular stable system, we transformed the existing structure into a premium breezeway stable with four spacious 4m × 4m bays, Dutch doors and a central breezeway. Every panel was custom fitted on site to suit the existing slab, creating a clean finish despite the natural variations that often come with older rural buildings.
The finished stable combines architectural styling with practical horse handling, proving that a shed conversion can feel every bit as polished as a purpose-built stable.
Designed to Complement the Property, Not Just House Horses
This project wasn’t about hiding a retrofit. It was about creating a stable that looked like it had always belonged there.
- Powder-coated black steel creates a clean, low-maintenance finish that stands up to everyday rural use.
- X-brace detailing gives the stable a strong architectural appearance without sacrificing practicality.
- Every panel was custom fitted for a flush, consistent finish across the existing shed structure.
- The finished stable complements the surrounding buildings while delivering the durability expected from welded Australian steel.
A Better Stable Starts With Better Workflow
The layout was designed around how horses are handled every day, giving owners flexible access while keeping the breezeway open and easy to work in.
- Four generous 4m × 4m stable bays provide comfortable space for larger horses.
- Dutch doors allow horses to enjoy fresh air while remaining safely enclosed.
- Internal swing mesh gates create flexible access between the breezeway and each stable.
- Wide openings make feeding, cleaning and veterinary work easier.
Ready for Queensland’s Heat, Rain and Storm Season
Retrofitting the shed wasn’t just about enclosing the space. It was about making it perform better in every season.
- A new awning roof creates a dry, sheltered breezeway during heavy rainfall.
- The roof pitch directs water away from high-traffic areas, keeping entrances cleaner and reducing surface water.
- Full-height ply kickboards provide additional protection from wind and driving rain.
- Mesh upper panels maintain natural airflow, while the generous roof height allows warm air to escape instead of building up inside the stable.
A Retrofit That Adds Value Instead of Starting Again
One of the biggest advantages of a shed conversion is making use of infrastructure that’s already there. Rather than demolishing and rebuilding, this project transformed an underused structure into a premium horse stable with the strength, appearance and functionality of a brand-new facility.
