"If you can think it, we can make it."
Jess from Gyra successfully completed a DIY install of the Guerilla Steel 4m x 4m standard horse stable and gave Morgan and the Team a glowing 5 start review. DIY-friendly flat pack kit delivered with modular upgrades available now and later.
Build It Your Way
Even first-timers nailed this install with zero stress.
Pre-welded frame and clear numbered steps let Jess (self-described “small weak human” – but we think she is Guerilla Tough!) and her husband assemble the full 4m x 4m bay on their own, phone support ready but barely needed.
Client arranged levelled compacted road base foundation to elevate the stable just right for runoff, cost-effective foundation that flexes with rural blocks, no concrete pour required.
Solid lower kickboards block rain/wind while mesh tops deliver essential QLD airflow, keeps horses dry, cool and visible without stuffy enclosures.

Jess and her husband needed a sturdy, no-fuss horse shelter for their rural block, one that could be DIY-installed without compromising strength. They chose a single 4m x 4m stable bay with full ply panels to keep out the weather in Gyra.
The stable sits on a well-prepped pad of compacted road base, carefully levelled and slightly elevated for proper runoff. This base choice offered a cost-effective and flexible foundation for the couple’s property layout.
The build included all the essentials, welded frame, full ply lining, mesh airflow up top, and a solid roof to keep out the worst of the weather. Even better, they opted to install it themselves. Thanks to the clear assembly guide and optional phone support, the process was literally so easy, even for first-time builders.
Three modular upgrade ideas for this compact 4 m x 4 m DIY stable, matching the images’ black ply/mesh aesthetic and field setup.
Bolt on an identical second bay to the side or rear, using the same frame connectors, doubles capacity instantly for growing herds, shares the roofline for full coverage, and keeps the clean modular look.
Attach a steel-framed 2 m roof frame as an extension with roof sheeting or even tensioned shade mesh, creates covered feed/tie-up space ahead of the doors, protects against QLD sun/rain while matching the galvanized finish.
Replace standard doors with half-height black yoke swings, improves horse contact and handler access for daily routines, bolts straight onto existing posts for easy retrofit..

Every Guerrilla Steel project follows a simple principle: build once, build right. The process focuses on practical planning, precision manufacturing, and long-term durability so the stable becomes a lasting asset—whether you plan to use it as a permanent structure or relocate and reconfigure the modular panels later.
The process begins with choosing the right configuration for your property, horses, and daily workflow. Stable size, layout, ventilation, and site access are considered so the structure works with your land and long-term plans.
Each stable is fabricated in the Guerrilla Steel workshop using Australian RHS steel framing, welded panels, and durable roofing materials. Manufacturing in a controlled environment ensures consistency, strength, and long service life.
Modular panels are delivered ready for assembly. Many customers install the system themselves using the DIY friendly flat-pack design, while others choose professional installation. Either way, the modular system keeps the build straightforward and predictable.
Once installed, the stable becomes part of the property’s working infrastructure. Routine checks, cleaning, and occasional maintenance keep the structure performing for decades while protecting the horses inside.
