When Jodie’s mare required a quiet, protected recovery zone on their Beaudesert property, they opted to convert their under-utilised farm shed rather than build a new structure. Speed, airflow, and safe containment were the key priorities.
Guerilla Steel designed a 2-bay internal stable using our retrofit frame system. Each bay measured 4m x 5m and included ply kickboards, mesh airflow panels, and yoke-style swing gates.
The system was anchored into the existing concrete base, with a custom layout to suit the shed wall spacing and access points.
With minimal disruption, the Guerilla install team created a professional-grade, stable fitout that now offers excellent shelter, security, and recovery conditions, without needing a full rebuild.

This 40m² retrofit transformed a rural Beaudesert shed into a structured two-horse setup — maximising existing infrastructure while upgrading safety and functionality.
Heavy-duty modular panels were installed within the existing building, creating permanent-grade stabling without compromising the shed’s overall integrity.
Solid kick protection lines the interior walls, reducing injury risk and providing a calm, enclosed space ideal for a convalescing mare.
Upper mesh sections maintain airflow and visibility, while solid lower boards protect against impact — balancing ventilation with containment.
Wide-opening, secure access gates improve handling ease while maintaining stable safety standards for indoor use.

Install additional front-facing swing or split gates to create a fully enclosed stable front, improves security for recovery horses and provides better wind control inside open rural sheds.
Upgrade the foundation to a poured slab with solid bolted anchors. Creating an elevated platform, ideal for wetter paddocks or flood-prone blocks, increases long-term stability and simplifies wash-down cleaning.
Enclose one side of the shed with a modular steel storage bay, creates secure gear storage without altering the primary stable footprint and maintains a unified roofline.
