FAQ – Straight Answers for Serious Buyers
How much does a Guerilla Steel Paddock Shelter cost?
Paddock Shelters start from $3,500 depending on the configuration and wall type.
Common configurations (GST included):
- Standard Shelter – Ply & Mesh Walls on 3 Sides, Open Front: $4,000.00
- Open Shelter – 2 Sides with Ply & Mesh Walls: $3,700.00
- Open Shelter – 2 Sides with Cattle Rail: $3,500.00
Standard installation is $400 per shelter. Optional anchor kits are $100 for a set of 4.
What are the standard dimensions and height?
Most shelters use 4m or 5m panels. A twin shelter is two 4m x 4m bays (8m x 4m total). All shelters have a 2.5m height for better airflow and head clearance.
What materials are used?
Frames are 50x50mm RHS galvanised steel. Walls feature 17mm form ply kickboards with 4mm heavy-duty galvanised mesh tops. Roofing is Monoclad® roof sheeting with 900mm front and 100mm rear overhangs.
Are they suitable for all livestock?
Yes. Designed for horses, ponies, donkeys, alpacas, goats, and more. Open-front access lets animals walk in and out freely.
Can I install it myself?
Yes. Flat-pack kits come with all hardware, instructions, and phone support. A 4x4m bay can be assembled in 6–8 hours by 2–3 people.
What site prep is needed?
Level and compact the site using road base, crusher dust, or prepared grass. Concrete slabs are optional, but give maximum anchoring strength. Drainage is important to prevent pooling — we provide site prep advice.
What makes them comfortable and safe for animals?
2.5m roof height reduces heat stress and boosts airflow. Mesh tops promote visibility and ventilation. Ply kickboards prevent injury, and overhangs give extra sun and rain cover.
What customisations are available?
Front gates, half-height doors, tack rooms, feed rooms, guttering, roof pitch upgrades, side roof extensions, and anchor kits. Modular design allows adding more bays later.
How long does delivery and installation take?
Lead time is usually 2–4 weeks. A twin shelter can often be installed in one day by our team.
Why choose Guerilla Steel?
